Gargi Education Institute`s Gargi Agriculture Research and Training Institute (GARTI) is recognized as Asia's pioneer institution offering education in Wine, Brewing, and Alcohol Technology.
Affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune), GARTI provides a range of programs including B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Wine, Brewing & Alcohol Technology, as well as B.Com, M.Com, B.Sc. in Computer Science, and M.Sc. in Computer Science.
Established in 2006, GARTI obtained final permission from Savitribai Phule Pune University and the Government of Maharashtra under the leadership of the Chairman, who tirelessly worked to secure approval for the unique syllabus from the university and the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE).
Notably, the institution was privileged to have Mr. Damien Gurande, an expert winemaker from France, as its Principal during its initial years.
The Department of Wine, Brewing, and Alcohol Technology stands as the academic centerpiece of GARTI, emphasizing a balanced curriculum of theoretical learning and practical skill development.
To augment hands-on experience, the institute has invested in a pilot plant of microbrewery and distillery from Brazil.
